Overview:
The Football Association of Singapore is responsible for developing and advancing the game at all levels. Providing a structure for the game to flourish and governing the running of football in Singapore, the FAS also ensures that the Laws of the Game are adhered to, from the professional Singapore Premier League to amateur leagues.
Organizing and running league and cup competitions, stewardship of international teams, establishing youth development, women’s football, refereeing, and coaching frameworks are some of the affairs of the FAS. Mass participation and the appeal that crosses divides make football the most popular sport in Singapore.
What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Interim Head, of Football Science and Medicine (FSAM), the Physiotherapist will be responsible for optimizing the physical health of FAS football players.
Manage and treat football injuries of football Men's and Women's players by:
Assessing, examining, and providing initial diagnosis of a player's injury.
Refer injured players to appropriate medical professionals accordingly.
Advising and planning appropriate treatment for player's injuries.
Providing acute physiotherapy treatment.
Monitoring the progress of the player's recovery.
Communicating and advising with relevant medical professionals, team officials, coaches, injured footballers, and other relevant persons on the management, prognosis, and progression of players' injuries.
Provide On-Field coverage for selected Men's and Women's teams' training and matches (including overseas assignments).
Assistant with injury prevention management of selected teams through:
Injury surveillance and documentation.
Recommending and providing updated scientific information on specific football injuries and injury prevention strategies.
Educating football players and coaches on injury prevention and management strategies.
Working and liaising closely with other sports scientists appointed by FAS in areas of sports sciences (nutrition, exercise physiology, etc.) for the support of teams' physical training requirements, recovery needs, and injury prevention strategies.
Any other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by the Head, FSAM, Technical Director, and General Secretary.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Physical Therapy/Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Bearing a valid Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) License.
- Ability to effectively recognize team/athlete needs and take on several roles.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence and initiative.
- Good team-building skills and the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with football or team sports (desired).
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or database management tools (desired).
